I have been using this Mason Pearson nylon and boar bristle brush for more than 40 years. My hair is very long, nearly to my waist, and I won’t use any other brush. Yes, it’s very expensive. To me it’s absolutely worth the expense.I love this brush. It's pricey, and ridiculously so to some people. However, I spend a lot of money on skin care, clothing, shoes, etc. so it kind of makes sense that you would do the same for your hair. For review purposes, I have waist-length, thick, salt-and-pepper 2c hair with a tendency to frizz. I use this brush twice a day: in the morning and at night before I go to bed. Brushing your hair with a Mason Pearson feels sooo good it's crazy. It's like a nice little head massage! The mixed bristles on this brush are great for my hair; the nylon bristles help really get in there to the scalp, and the boar bristles do a great job moving those oils down your hair strands. I notice less shedding when I use this brush, and I feel like it helps smooth my hair better than the cheaper brushes I've owned. I do not use this when my hair is wet, and I also don't use products in my hair, so there's that. This brush also comes with a little brush cleaner and clear directions on caring for your Mason Pearson. I love the vintage look of the brush and the packaging, too! If you have a little extra money laying around to splurge on something just for you, I highly recommend this brush. It would make an excellent gift too.My scalp feels better, great detangler, easy to clean, hair shines now & is durable.Quality and comfort also durability have always been reliable features of this productI like using it very much . It smoothly detangles my hair. It reaches through my hair to my scalp. It pulls out less hair than my old brush.About 25 years ago, I discovered this wonderful imported brush in a beauty shop and now I'm on my third one. (I also bought a smaller one for my purse.) Initially, I thought the price was outrageous but remembered the old adage "you get what you pay for" And I was not disappointed. At 75, I am fortunate to still have long, thick hair. If yours is similar, this brush is an absolute must, especially for complete maintenance and healthy hair. At first, you might find washing the brush via the dry method (with the included smaller brush) a little disconcerting, but it's essential to maintain the cleanliness of this marvelous hairbrush. A la Scarlett O'Hara, to maintain healthy hair, you must brush l00-200 strokes each morning and so on. And do it with a Mason Pearson hairbrush.Due to this products price and purpose...I will provide my two cents. I purchased this product mostly for my 12yo daughter. She is not only tender headed, but has the thickest of hair and long (mid-back) that is tangled all the time (wavy/dry Latin hair). And against the harsh elements of this summer season; pool, beach and humid weather, and having been disillusioned by many hair brushes, with basic use of "taming the flyaways" resulting in her signature hairstyle; a ponytail. I can say that this hari brush is our new BF. The brush actually goes through all of her hair. In a matter of two months, shine is back in her hair, less tangles and not only manageable hair that looks great in a ponytail but she can now let her hair loose and still have it look good (and less tangles).Bottom line- Yes this product is high end with a price to back it up. But if the hair brush can hold up for ~ 4 years - hoping 5!!! (daughter's hair is really thick and the bristles will have to prove themselves worthy) and given that this is a shared hair brush (three of us "young" ladies) that comb there hair at least 3x a day! I think it is well worth it.Ok... You may be thinking.. WTF!? 120 bucks for a Brush?! Give me a break!Ok I said the same thing too.. I wondered why would anyone in the right mind would buy such an expensive brush!Well, I fell into the trap as well lol..Im a college student and obviously dont make much money. I had my eye on this brush for about 2 yrs now. Ive have long hair.. It used to be VERY thick.. through stress it has fallen out and is not as thick as it used to be. Nonetheless, I figured this would be a good investment since I had read that ppl had these brushes for 25+ yrs..I bought my brush and was very pleased. I didnt think It would make a difference.. but it does. It makes my hair feel soft and for some odd reason even makes it look kinda shiny.. ( not like pantene pro-V shiny) but a good natural shine.I have never dyed my hair or anything with chemicals and my hair still was frizzy, dull and a bit dry..I bought the Large nylon/ boar bristle brush and I detangle and brush my hair much faster and it feels really nice.If you can save up a bit of money it definetly is a nice brush to have.I wish It would have come in a nice case or box ( it came in a regular Mason Pearson cardboard box)Excellent - as expectedTotalmente faaaaake!!!! I wasted almost $200 on a brush that had NO boar bristles! It scrapes the scalp. It makes hair oily. It uncurls hair curled by a curling iron. It might have been popular 100 years ago but not good now. The day after I received it, I bought a real boar bristles brush from Amazon for $29 which is great! My family has used Mason Pearson hairbrushes for several generations. I tried switching to a cheaper brand but was disappointed. I have really thick hair and this brush gets right through it. It is lovely to hold and use.Incredible, una spazzola che contribuisce a non sporcare i capelli. Ha un costo elevato ma è un investimento che cambia completamente il capello, anche il parrucchiere mi ha chiesto cosa avevo cambiato... ma ho solo acquistato questa spazzola !
