I didn't order this for a coffee maker, but as a filter for a fountain pump in a terrarium. I ended up having to get a different pump, and then couldn't use this filter. But it appears to be well made and of reasonable quality for the price.I though the little handle was a nice feature, because if you really are using it in a coffee maker, you'd want one to get it out. The mesh looks quite fine, so I believe it would be good at filtering at least regular grounds. You may have problems with extremely fine grounds. And in looking for one of these I did read a lot of reviews for various brands. People would complain about the mesh coming apart from the plastic frame. This one appears to have the mesh sandwiched between two pieces of plastic frame. So that seems like it would work well.From the make of this one, I'm considering finding a basket style one from this company to use in my black and decker 12 cup.Overall, I am very pleased with the GOLDTONE Reusable 4-Cup Cone Coffee Filter, 2 Size Paperless Cone and would definitely recommend. You save money with it and produce less trash.As someone who drinks coffee daily, I went through so(!) many paper filter. This reusable coffee filter has already .It is easy to clean; just tap the filter to discard the grounds and wipe clean. The only thing I didn't expect was the fact that the mesh is slightly larger than paper. This means that if your coffee is finely ground, you will see fine grounds (as thin as dust) sit in the bottom of your mug. Personally, I don't mind it because it makes the coffee stronger. But if you are very picky and not used to it, it might make a difference for you.I had hoped to make this my permanent filter for my pour-over coffee, but some coffee "residue" still seeps through this and ends in my mug. However, it still works very well and is a great back-up when I'm out of filters...and so are my local stores (happens more than you'd think).This filter fits perfectly in my pour over. I wanted something that I could reuse so I didn't have to keep buying and throwing away filters. It fits nice and is easy to clean, but it didn't seem to allow the water to sit and mix with the grounds like it is supposed to. The water just quickly ran through. It may just be me, since I don't seem to be good at making pour over coffeeI purchased this filter because I got tired of purchasing paper filters. I've used it a couple of weeks, and I am very pleased with it.virtually no sediment passes thru the filter. The only issue I have is it hangs im my Cuisinart twin-cup coffee maker when I try to remove it. I have figured out how to get it out now, but at first it was aggravating. I fully recommend this product.My friend was looking for a reusable filter to put in his pour over coffee maker. He'd been using paper filters but thought this would be more environmentally friendly. We couldn't find one this size locally, and this fit perfectly! It makes awesome tasting coffee! Just rinse under running water, and let air dry. I've had mine for over 10 years and still going strong!I love the product, because I hate having to use paper filters, alas, I won't follow Amazons comments anymore! I now have a reusable filter that doesn't fit the Hamilton Beach 5-cup pot and I can't use...will not return, not worth the cost or effort.Saves lots of money on filters, washes easily
